AsoFénix begins work within a community by meeting a community-wide unmet basic need. AsoFénix´s main areas of focus typically consist of using renewable energy to provide potable water and electricity. Once the larger projects are completed, we work with the local committee to encounter the needs of the community and help to meet them. These followup projects have included educational programs (covering the following topics: community organization and mobilization, gender equity, sustainable agriculture, community hygiene, nutrition, environmental awareness and stewardship, and renewable energy topics), biodigesters, solar powered irrigation systems, and wind powered battery charging posts.
Water
Solar powered water pumps bring water to every family´s home within a community. AsoFénix has completed four potable water projects in the communities of Candelaria, Bramadero, Potreritos, and Son Zapote, providing water to 1,400 people. Take a closer look at our past potable water projects.
Electrification
Electrification projects utilize energy from water, the sun, or the wind, depending upon which renewable resource is available the community. Successful projects have been finished in Malacatoya, El Corozo and Son Zapote, with current and future projects in El Bejuco, La Laguna and El Roblar. Complementary
Our work encompasses many areas of a community´s life. Not only do we promote the use of 
renewable energy in rural areas, but we also help a community develop in a sustainable manner. Before beginning work in a community, the people elect a committee. We work through the committee to identify possible projects that are solutions to community problems and help them encounter the means to complete these projects. We provide training in the areas of health and nutrition, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, reforestation, gender equality, cultivating ideas for income generation, leadership and community organization. Future
Working with the local government will help us encounter more communities that lack basic access to clean water and electricity. At the community level, working with the together with the committees, we can identify and find solutions to the problems the community is facing.
